Tri Nerd

In between training and hosting some out-of-town guests this weekend, I checked out the New England Multisport Expo.  While it was fun to drool over some new gear and question new nutrition supplements, I have to admit I got a little taken away when I watched this Computrainer time trial:

Can you identify some of the racers?  That’s Karen Smyers third in from the far end – she’s an Ironman and ITU World Champion and recent inductee to the USAT Hall of Fame!  And, Scott Tinley – a 2 time Ironman world champion is there!  It was a short, but intense race – and I couldn’t help clap and holler as two of the racers were within 8 ft of each other for the finish.

It’s official – I am a triathlon nerd.

I wandered around the rest of the expo checking out some great things like Fit Planet – a company that helps make races more green and Urban-Epic – a new kind of triathlon festival in cities.  If there is an expo in your area, I would definitely recommend checking it out!
